About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprentice at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in providing patient-centered care and support within the pharmacy. This position offers an opportunity to engage with customers, assist pharmacists, and develop your skills through a recognized apprenticeship program. You will be responsible for processing prescriptions, managing customer interactions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations, all while receiving training to advance your career in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Assist with clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients.
• Maintain a clean and orderly Pharmacy Department.

Requirements

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to assist pharmacists and engage with customers effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
