In your role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. You will utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and coach other pharmacy technicians. Your responsibilities will also include engaging with customers, resolving their issues, and providing a delightful customer experience. You will be expected to maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, manage inventory, and support clinical services as needed. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Assist in inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians and nurses.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Basic computer skills to operate pharmacy systems and cash registers.
  • Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
