About the position
The Walgreens Pharmacy Technician position focuses on providing patient-centric care in a pharmacy environment. Technicians will interact with customers, assist pharmacists, and utilize pharmacy systems to manage prescriptions and patient information. The role emphasizes relationship-building with patients and offers a training program to help technicians achieve certification and advance their careers in healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Assist in scheduling and maintaining workflow in the pharmacy.
- Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
- Assist with inventory management activities, including ordering and storing pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Pharmacy Department.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
- PTCB certification or willingness to obtain certification.
