In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. Your responsibilities will include using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and coaching other pharmacy technicians if you are PTCB certified. You will also engage with customers, providing assistance and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience. The position requires a commitment to customer service excellence, adherence to company policies, and a proactive approach to developing strong relationships with customers. The training and personal development opportunities provided through Walgreens' pharmacy technician apprenticeship program are extensive. Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Pharmacy Department.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to assist pharmacists in various pharmacy duties in accordance with company policies.
• Basic computer skills to operate pharmacy systems effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment is preferred.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens is preferred.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions, including counting and measuring medications.
• Knowledge of store inventory control is preferred.
• PTCB certification is preferred.
