In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. Your responsibilities will include using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and coaching other pharmacy technicians. You will also engage with customers, providing assistance and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience. The position requires a commitment to customer service excellence, as you will model best practices and develop strong relationships with valued customers. Your operational duties will involve entering patient and drug information accurately, filling prescriptions, and maintaining workflow in collaboration with the pharmacy team. You will be responsible for reporting prescription errors, adhering to company policies, and managing inventory activities. Additionally, you may assist in clinical services, coordinate with healthcare providers, and ensure the pharmacy environment is clean and well-stocked. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Assist in inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy environment.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to assist pharmacists in various pharmacy duties under supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in filling prescriptions.
  • Responsible and trustworthy in handling sensitive information and cash transactions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
  • Good computer skills for operating pharmacy systems.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
