As a Pharmacy Technician or Pharm Tech Apprentice at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in transforming the pharmacy experience from a transaction-based environment to a patient-centric one. In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. You will be responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and coach other pharmacy technicians if you are PTCB certified. Your daily tasks will include engaging with customers, resolving their issues, and providing a delightful customer experience. You will also assist in inventory management, maintain the pharmacy's cleanliness, and support clinical services as needed. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Assist in scheduling and maintaining workflow in the pharmacy.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Process manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely manner.
  • Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services as required.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy department.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with regulations.
  • Basic computer skills to operate pharmacy systems effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
