About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprentice at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in enhancing customer health and well-being. This entry-level position focuses on building relationships with customers while providing essential pharmacy services. You will receive comprehensive training through an apprenticeship program that prepares you for certification and career advancement in the healthcare field.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
• Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Pharmacy Department.

Requirements

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to assist the pharmacist in various pharmacy duties.
• Basic math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
• Good computer skills for operating pharmacy systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
