The Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship at Walgreens is a part-time role focused on providing patient-centric pharmacy services. This position allows individuals to gain hands-on experience while working towards becoming a certified pharmacy technician through a recognized training program. The role emphasizes customer interaction, operational support, and adherence to pharmacy regulations, all while fostering a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, such as ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Pharmacy Department.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
