Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, you will assist in various pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while delivering exceptional customer service. Your responsibilities will include processing prescriptions, engaging with customers, and supporting pharmacy operations, all while adhering to company policies and procedures. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to develop strong relationships with the local medical community, including physicians and healthcare providers, enhancing growth opportunities for the pharmacy. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly pharmacy environment, managing inventory, and completing special assignments as needed. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager.
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
  • Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely manner.
  • Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services as required.
  • Maintain good relationships with the local medical community through outreach efforts.
  • Ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies and is clean and orderly.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control is preferred.
  • PTCB certification is preferred.
