In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. Your responsibilities will include using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and coaching other pharmacy technicians if you are PTCB certified. You will also engage with customers, providing assistance and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience. The position requires a commitment to customer service excellence, as you will model best practices and develop strong relationships with valued customers. Your operational duties will involve entering patient and drug information accurately, filling prescriptions, and maintaining workflow under the guidance of the pharmacy manager and staff pharmacist. You will be responsible for reporting prescription errors, adhering to company policies, and managing cash register transactions. Additionally, you will assist in inventory management and may support clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers. Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Enter patient and drug information accurately and fill prescriptions as required.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately and adhere to company policies.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy department and ensure adequate supplies are stocked.
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to assist pharmacists in various pharmacy duties in accordance with regulations.
• Strong communication skills to engage with customers and resolve issues.
• Detail-oriented with good problem-solving abilities.
• Responsible and trustworthy in handling pharmacy operations.

Nice-to-haves

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens is preferred.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
• Good computer skills for operating pharmacy systems.
• Knowledge of store inventory control is preferred.
• PTCB certification is preferred.
