In your role, you will assist the pharmacist under direct supervision, performing various pharmacy duties in compliance with state and federal regulations. This includes using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and coaching other pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems. You will also be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience. Your responsibilities will extend to operational tasks such as filling prescriptions, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and orderly pharmacy environment. You will also assist in clinical services, including the collection and labeling of samples, and foster relationships with local healthcare providers to enhance growth opportunities for the pharmacy. The training and personal development aspect of this position is vital, as you will be required to earn and maintain your PTCB certification through the designated training program. Continuous education and training will be provided to keep you updated on the latest developments in healthcare and pharmacy practices. Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly pharmacy department.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• PTCB Certification or willingness to obtain it as a condition of promotion to senior technician.
• Basic math skills for accurately filling prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Good computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
