In this role, you will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in various tasks, including processing prescriptions, managing patient information, and providing exceptional customer service. You will engage with customers, helping them navigate their healthcare needs and ensuring a positive experience at the pharmacy. The position emphasizes the importance of building strong relationships with patients, as you will be at the forefront of their healthcare journey. The training program includes comprehensive courses and on-the-job experiences that will prepare you for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification. You will learn about pharmacy operations, medication management, and customer service best practices, all while working under the supervision of experienced pharmacists. Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Pharmacy Department.
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to assist pharmacists in various pharmacy operations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers effectively.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in filling prescriptions.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
• Good computer skills for managing pharmacy systems.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
