The program is designed to equip you with the foundational and advanced knowledge, skills, and on-the-job experiences necessary to excel in the pharmacy care industry. In this role, you will assist the pharmacist under direct supervision, performing various pharmacy department duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. You will be responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with coaching pharmacy technicians and cashiers. Your commitment to delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience will be essential, as you engage with customers, resolve issues, and model best practices in customer service. You will also assist in operational tasks, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and maintaining workflow. Your responsibilities will extend to managing inventory, processing claims, and supporting clinical services as needed. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and comply with all company policies and procedures. Continuous personal development is encouraged, and you will be required to earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model customer service best practices with team members to deliver a delightful customer experience.
• Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely manner.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain the Pharmacy Department in a clean, neat, and orderly condition.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Must be able to earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state required certification/registration.
• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.

• PTCB certification is preferred.
