In your role, you will assist the pharmacist under direct supervision, performing various pharmacy department duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. You will be responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with coaching pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy operations. Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Assist in scheduling and maintaining workflow in the pharmacy.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Pharmacy Department.
• Assist in administering clinical services, including collecting and labeling blood/urine samples.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Must have a valid Pharmacy Technician Certification certification (or be willing to obtain it).
• Experience in customer service is preferred.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control are preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment is preferred.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens is preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmacy systems and operations is a plus.
