About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprentice at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in providing patient-centered care and building relationships with customers. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to learn and grow within the healthcare field, supported by a comprehensive training program that prepares you for certification as a Pharmacy Technician. You will assist pharmacists in various tasks, ensuring a positive customer experience while adhering to company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying correctness, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Pharmacy Department.
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.

Requirements

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
