About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician or Pharm Tech Apprentice at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare system, directly interacting with customers and helping them achieve better health outcomes. You will receive training in various aspects of pharmacy operations, including the use of pharmacy systems, customer service best practices, and compliance with state and federal regulations. In your role, you will assist pharmacists in their daily tasks, ensuring that prescriptions are filled accurately and efficiently. You will engage with customers, addressing their inquiries and resolving any issues they may have. Your responsibilities will also include managing inventory, processing claims, and maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment. Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers and develop strong patient relationships.
  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately and adhere to company policies.
  • Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy environment.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to assist pharmacists in various pharmacy duties in accordance with company policies.
  • Basic computer skills to operate pharmacy systems effectively.
  • Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
