As a Walgreens Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in transforming the pharmacy experience from a transaction-based environment to a patient-centric one. You will receive comprehensive training that equips you with the foundational and advanced knowledge necessary to excel in the pharmacy care industry. In your role, you will assist the pharmacist under direct supervision, performing various pharmacy department duties in compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations. Your responsibilities will include using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and coaching other pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems. You will also be responsible for delivering a distinctive customer experience by engaging with customers, resolving issues, and modeling best practices in customer service. This position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance, as you will be involved in filling prescriptions, managing inventory, and ensuring the pharmacy department operates smoothly. Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow in the pharmacy.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist with inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Pharmacy Department.
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• PTCB Certification preferred.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
• Experience in a retail environment is preferred.
