In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. Your responsibilities will include using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and providing exceptional customer service. You will engage with customers, resolve their issues, and model best practices in customer service to create a delightful experience. Additionally, you will assist in inventory management, maintain the pharmacy's operational standards, and support clinical services as needed. This position not only offers a pathway to certification but also provides valuable on-the-job training and experience in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Assist in the scheduling and maintaining workflow in the pharmacy.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Process manual claims for third-party prescription services in a timely manner.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Pharmacy Department.
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.
• Attend training and complete continuing education credits as required.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to assist pharmacists in various pharmacy duties.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers effectively.
• Detail-oriented with good problem-solving abilities.
• Basic math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
