In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. You will be responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and coach other pharmacy technicians if you are PTCB certified. Your daily tasks will include engaging with customers, resolving their issues, and providing a delightful customer experience. You will also assist in the operational aspects of the pharmacy, including inventory management and maintaining a clean and orderly environment. The position requires a commitment to ongoing training and personal development, including earning and maintaining PTCB certification. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy environment.
  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to assist pharmacists in various pharmacy duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
