In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, performing various pharmacy department duties in accordance with company policies and state and federal regulations. Your responsibilities will include using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and coaching other pharmacy technicians if you are PTCB certified. You will also engage with customers, providing assistance and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience. Your role will involve operational tasks such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and maintaining workflow, as well as supporting inventory management activities. Training and personal development are key components of this position. You will be required to earn and maintain PTCB certification and participate in ongoing training to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments. Completing the Walgreens pharmacy technician apprenticeship program can also earn you college credit hours, further enhancing your educational credentials. Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Pharmacy Department.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to assist pharmacists in various pharmacy department duties.
• Basic computer skills to operate pharmacy systems.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
