About the position

As a Walgreens Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in transforming the pharmacy experience from a transaction-based environment to a more patient-centric one. In this role, you will assist the pharmacist under direct supervision, performing various pharmacy department duties in compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations. You will be responsible for utilizing pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and coaching other pharmacy technicians if you are PTCB certified. Your primary focus will be on delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging with customers, resolving issues, and ensuring satisfaction. You will also assist in operational tasks such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and maintaining workflow, all while adhering to the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct. Additionally, you will be involved in training and personal development, earning and maintaining your PTCB certification through the designated training program. Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, such as ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Assist the pharmacist in administering clinical services, including collecting and labeling samples from patients.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy department and ensure adequate supplies are stocked.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to assist the pharmacist in various pharmacy duties in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Basic computer skills to operate pharmacy systems and cash registers.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment is preferred.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens is preferred.
• Knowledge of store inventory control is preferred.
• PTCB certification is preferred.
