In this position, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. Your responsibilities will include using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and coaching other pharmacy technicians if you are PTCB certified. You will also be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, engaging with patients, resolving issues, and modeling best practices in customer interactions. The role requires you to maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, assist in inventory management, and support the pharmacy team in various operational tasks. You will also have opportunities for personal development through training and continuing education, which can lead to college credit hours recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE). Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy environment.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
