In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. You will be responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and coach other pharmacy technicians if you are PTCB certified. Your daily tasks will include engaging with customers, resolving their issues, and providing a delightful customer experience. You will also assist in inventory management, maintain the pharmacy's cleanliness, and support clinical services as needed. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Assist in the operation of pharmacy systems and cash registers if PTCB certified.
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians and nurses.
  • Ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies and is clean and orderly.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
