The Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship at Walgreens is designed to provide individuals with a pathway into the healthcare field, focusing on patient-centric care. This role involves assisting pharmacists in various pharmacy operations while engaging with customers to enhance their experience. The position offers training and support to help candidates achieve Pharmacy Technician Certification, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the pharmacy industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist with inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Pharmacy Department.
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
