About the position

The Walgreens Pharmacy Technician position focuses on providing patient-centric care by interacting with customers and developing strong relationships. This role involves assisting pharmacists in various pharmacy operations while utilizing the latest technology and training programs to enhance career growth and achieve certification as a Pharmacy Technician. The position emphasizes customer service, operational support, and compliance with pharmacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the operation of pharmacy systems and cash registers if PTCB certified.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Pharmacy Department.

Requirements

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
• Customer service experience.
