In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. Your responsibilities will include using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and coaching other pharmacy technicians. You will also engage with customers, providing assistance and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience. The position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence, as you will be responsible for various tasks, including inventory management and clerical duties. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Assist in scheduling and maintaining workflow in the pharmacy.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
  • Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely manner.
  • Assist with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Pharmacy Department.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to assist pharmacists in various pharmacy duties in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with customers and resolve issues effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in filling prescriptions and handling medications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
  • Good computer skills for operating pharmacy systems.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
