In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. You will be responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and coach other pharmacy technicians if you are PTCB certified. Your daily tasks will include engaging with customers, resolving their issues, and providing a delightful customer experience. You will also assist in operational tasks such as entering patient information, filling prescriptions, and managing inventory. This position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and adhering to company policies and procedures. The training and personal development opportunities at Walgreens are extensive. You will earn and maintain your PTCB certification through the designated training program, and your experience in the apprenticeship program may qualify you for college credit hours recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE). Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Assist in inventory management activities, such as ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services, including collecting and labeling samples.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with the local medical community.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to assist pharmacists in various pharmacy duties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers.
  • Detail-oriented with good problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
