In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. Your responsibilities will include using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and coaching other pharmacy technicians if you are PTCB certified. You will also engage with customers, providing assistance and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience. The position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence, as you will be responsible for various tasks, including filling prescriptions, managing inventory, and supporting clinical services. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Assist in inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians and healthcare providers.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
