About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprentice at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in providing patient-centered care and support within the pharmacy. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Assist with inventory management activities, such as ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients.
  • Attend training and complete continuing education credits to maintain knowledge and skills in healthcare and pharmacy.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to assist pharmacists and engage with customers effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
