About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician or Pharm Tech Apprentice at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare system, providing essential support to pharmacists and ensuring that patients receive the best possible care. Your daily responsibilities will involve interacting with customers, assisting them with their needs, and building strong relationships to enhance their healthcare experience. You will be responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Additionally, you will assist pharmacists in various tasks, including inventory management and clinical services, while adhering to company policies and procedures. The role emphasizes customer service, requiring you to engage with patients, resolve issues, and provide a delightful experience. Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services, including collecting and labeling samples.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy environment.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to assist pharmacists in various pharmacy duties.
• Basic computer skills to operate pharmacy systems.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
