In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. You will be responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and coach other pharmacy technicians if you are PTCB certified. Your daily tasks will include engaging with customers, resolving their issues, and providing a delightful customer experience. You will also assist in inventory management, maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy, and support the pharmacy team in various operational tasks. The position requires a commitment to ongoing training and personal development, including earning and maintaining PTCB certification. Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to assist pharmacists in various pharmacy duties in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Strong communication skills to engage with customers and resolve issues effectively.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills to maintain pharmacy operations.

Nice-to-haves

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens is preferred.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions, including counting and measuring medications.
• Good computer skills for operating pharmacy systems and managing inventory control.
• PTCB certification is preferred.
