About the position

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers medications to patients and nursing units under supervision.
• Receives medications and supplies.
• Manages inventory effectively.
• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Maintains quality assurance according to departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Minimum of 6 months relevant experience
• Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required
• CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.
