Responsibilities

• Purchases medications and maintains inventory for the Home Infusion Pharmacy.
• Tracks expenditures according to work unit budget.
• Fills and delivers medications under supervision.
• Ensures adequate medications and supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Maintains quality assurance according to departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Participates in the training of new employees.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Minimum of 6 months relevant experience required
• Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required
• CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.
