About the position

Genoa Healthcare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Saint Joseph, MO. This role is crucial in supporting the functions of our mental health and specialty pharmacy, primarily through the dispensing of medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be part of a collaborative effort to serve the behavioral health and addiction treatment communities, ensuring that individuals with serious mental or chronic illnesses receive the medications they need to follow their treatment plans effectively. In this position, you will work Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a lunch break from 12 PM to 1 PM. Your responsibilities will include providing exceptional customer service to consumers and clinic staff, filling prescription orders, ordering and receiving pharmacy supplies, processing wholesaler medication orders, and maintaining inventory records. You will also assist the pharmacist in ensuring compliance with all federal and state requirements and perform various clerical duties related to the pharmacy department. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role, as you will be interacting with both staff and patients regularly. Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
  • Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
  • Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies
  • Receive and process wholesaler medication orders
  • Verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records
  • Work with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keep the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
  • Perform various clerical duties relating to the department
  • Communicate with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Missouri or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
  • Access to reliable transportation

Nice-to-haves

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • 6+ months of Pharmacy Technician experience
