About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician at Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City plays a crucial role in assisting pharmacists with the preparation, compounding, and dispensing of medications. This position is accountable to the supervising pharmacist and must adhere to applicable standards and regulations to ensure patient safety and care. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, as it operates on a PRN basis with rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent exam.
  • Actively registered with the Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to apply by the first day of work.
  • 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred for Tech I; required for Tech II.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred for Tech II.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and demonstrate proficiency with pharmacy automation technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with robotic dispensing equipment and automated dispensing cabinets.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy automation technology systems and workflow management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
  • Follow applicable standards and federal, state, and local laws and regulations for patient care and safety.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and use of pharmacy equipment, including robotic dispensing equipment and automated dispensing cabinets.
  • Operate pharmacy automation technology systems and manage workflow effectively.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting for automated pharmacy technology and associated software.
