About the position
The Pharmacy Technician (Retail) at WellSpan Health is responsible for assisting pharmacists in filling routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals. This role involves various tasks including patient interaction, medication delivery, and data entry, all while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The position is PRN (as needed) and requires flexibility in scheduling, including day and evening shifts.
Responsibilities
- Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels.
- Interacts with patients to take prescriptions and necessary information.
- Operates cash register and delivers medications as needed.
- Submits and receives orders from suppliers.
- Enters and retrieves data from established computer files using various software applications.
- Assists with I.V. preparation and delivery.
- Shares responsibility for daily delivery of patient medications to a Script Center in Mt. Gretna, PA.
Requirements
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- No prior experience required.
