About the position

The Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and health and wellness services to patients. This position involves direct patient interaction, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. The technician supports pharmacists in their duties while adhering to company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
• Comply with local, state, and federal regulations; report illegal activities such as robbery, theft, or fraud.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and customer waiting areas.
• Assist pharmacists in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
• Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
• Follow guidelines on computerized inventory management and ordering of medications and supplies.
• Complete billing procedures to ensure best value for customers and the company.
• Answer phone calls and triage inquiries appropriately.
• Understand and adhere to guidelines on accepting vendor coupons and managing cash shortages.
• Provide a stellar customer experience during reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Meets minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous comparable experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Familiarity with EPRN systems.
