About the position
The Pharmacy Technician at Genoa Healthcare plays a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations within a mental health setting. This position involves dispensing medical prescriptions, performing clerical duties, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The technician will also provide exceptional customer service to clinic staff and consumers, contributing to the overall mission of improving health outcomes for individuals with serious mental or chronic illnesses.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
- Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
- Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies
- Receive and process wholesaler medication orders
- Verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records
- Work with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keep the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
- Perform various clerical duties relating to the department
- Communicate with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of New Jersey
- Access to reliable transportation
Nice-to-haves
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification
- 1+ years of Pharmacy and prescription data entry experience
