About the position

The Pharmacy Triage Supervisor at PruittHealth is responsible for overseeing a team of pharmacy technicians, ensuring effective communication between the pharmacy and healthcare center staff. This role involves managing customer requests, resolving issues, and maintaining quality assurance within the Triage Department.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Triage Technicians by interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, making work assignments and evaluating job performance.
  • Provide courteous, cooperative and timely service to customers.
  • Establish work procedures in collaboration with Pharmacy Manager and assign priority to coordinate activity of the Triage Department.
  • Perform routine staff duties of the Triage Department including document triage, answering telephone inquiries, and contacting backup pharmacies.
  • Clarify prescription questions or concerns with the healthcare center and communicate daily with the healthcare center Administrator and Director of Health Services.
  • Elevate pending concerns to the appropriate executive staff.
  • Monitor Quality Focus Centers to assure quality assurance and performance is upheld.
  • Assist and delegate activities if other pharmacy departments need assistance.
  • Monitor for compliance with promise logs, triage logs and other triage documentation.
  • Ensure all end of night documentation is complete.
  • Assist Pharmacy Manager regarding personnel actions and Triage operations.
  • Coordinate shift replacements for proper manpower coverage.
  • Recommend policies and procedures for Triage operations and update policies as necessary under Pharmacy Management supervision.
  • Collect data, conduct quality monitors and complete documentation as assigned.
  • Investigate errors and variances as needed for excellent customer service.
  • Orient and train new Triage partners.
  • Provide ongoing training and education programs for Triage Technicians.
  • Enter orders accurately into patient medication profile in pharmacy computer application.
  • Attend managers' meetings and communicate information to department team.
  • Hold weekly team meetings with department members to provide encouragement and accountability.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification as Pharmacy Technician.
  • Ability to complete projects as assigned by Pharmacy Manager.
  • Ability to enter orders accurately into patient medication profile in pharmacy computer application.
  • Typing/keyboard knowledge.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Medical Terminology.
