The Phlebotomist II position at Quest Diagnostics involves applying phlebotomy expertise and advanced technology to provide quality patient care in a supportive environment. Responsibilities
- Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
- Administer oral solutions as per training guidelines.
- Research test/client information and verify orders using lab technology systems.
- Accurately enter data and billing information, and collect payments when necessary.
- Process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, and preparing for transport as required.
- Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory management, sanitizing, and answering phones.
- Comply with departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist with compiling and submitting statistics and data as needed.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
- Complete required training courses in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
- Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends and holidays.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
Nice-to-haves
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
