About the position

The Phlebotomist III Site Lead at Quest Diagnostics is responsible for leading daily activities at a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) while ensuring high-quality blood sample collection and patient interaction. This role involves mentoring staff, managing operations, and maintaining compliance with established procedures, all while providing exceptional customer service and support to patients and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
  • Direct daily activity at a Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy.
  • Ensure daily activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Act as a coach, mentor, and instructor for new employees.
  • Provide effective onboarding services to new clients.
  • Communicate professionally with clients to resolve issues and document problems.
  • Maintain phlebotomy logs and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Assist with inventory counts and report shortages to supervisors.
  • Participate in special projects and teams as needed.
  • Perform Point of Care (POC) testing and maintain training/competency evaluations.

Requirements

  • Five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Minimum of three years in a Patient Service Center or In-Office environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
