Phlebotomist III Site Lead

About the position

The Phlebotomist III Site Lead at Quest Diagnostics serves as the primary representative to patients, responsible for drawing blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing. This role involves leading daily activities at a Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks while fostering a trusting environment for patients. The Site Lead also mentors new employees, collaborates with various departments, and handles complex customer interactions, all while adhering to established protocols and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
• Direct daily activities at a Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy.
• Mentor and train new employees, providing effective onboarding services.
• Ensure accurate completion of daily activities and compliance with protocols.
• Communicate professionally with clients to resolve issues and document problems.
• Perform data entry and manage patient registration and billing information.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and assist with inventory counts.
• Participate in special projects and assist with the preparation of schedules.

Requirements

• Five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Three years of experience in a Patient Service Center or In-Office environment preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
