Responsibilities

• Perform pre-analytic processing of specimens.
• Collect specimens through venipuncture or skin punctures.
• Accession, label, and distribute specimens appropriately.
• Follow proper patient identification protocols and established blood collection protocols.
• Process a volume of specimens appropriate for the assigned work area.
• Perform clerical and miscellaneous duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of formal phlebotomy training program or equivalent preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information required.
• Ability to perform a variety of job duties in a stressful, fast-paced environment required.
• Phlebotomy skills preferred.
• Keyboarding skills preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
