About the position

The Phlebotomist/Research Assistant at Empire Dermatology is responsible for supporting clinical research studies by enrolling patients, collecting samples, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires compliance with HIPAA regulations and effective communication with healthcare providers to ensure the smooth operation of research activities.

Responsibilities

• Comply with HIPAA privacy regulations.
• Collaborate with providers on current and incoming studies.
• Provide eligible patients with an overview of study research.
• Prepare for and undergo site visits from studies.
• Enroll patients in appropriate studies.
• Record research data into the study database.
• Collect clinical patient samples.
• Communicate with providers about new information and the progress of current studies.
• Stay updated with research regarding current and incoming studies.
• Scan documents into the computer and distribute as needed.
• Retrieve and send general faxes as directed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Customer service skills.
