About the position

The position involves correctly performing patient identification, venipuncture/capillary collection technique, and specimen labeling. The candidate will also perform specimen processing functions accurately and efficiently, and correctly execute special phlebotomy procedures. Demonstrating initiative and leadership qualities is essential, along with compliance with Laboratory Safety Policies & Procedures. Adequate knowledge of the hospital and laboratory computer systems is also required.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Current driver's license with no major driving citations and able to be covered under AMC auto insurance required
  • Certification in Phlebotomy by ASCP (or other nationally recognized certification agency) or completion of AS degree in Medical Laboratory Technician program preferred
  • At least one year phlebotomy experience preferred
