About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care by performing venipuncture and other laboratory procedures. This position requires a compassionate individual who is committed to ensuring patient comfort and safety while obtaining blood samples for diagnostic testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients of all ages, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
• Prepare patients for blood draws by explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns they may have.
• Collect blood samples accurately and efficiently, following aseptic techniques to prevent contamination.
• Label and document specimens appropriately, ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory area, adhering to safety regulations.
• Assist in the training of new staff or interns on laboratory techniques and patient service standards.
• Monitor patients' vital signs as required before and after procedures to ensure their well-being.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient service and support.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in laboratory procedures and techniques related to phlebotomy.
• Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to venipuncture sites.
• Familiarity with patient care practices and excellent interpersonal skills to enhance patient experience.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification (Preferred)
• Experience in Venipuncture (Yes)
