The Phlebotomist I Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) role is essential for delivering exceptional patient care and represents the organization to individuals seeking health services. The position involves skillfully collecting blood specimens, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a professional environment while adhering to established protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Skillfully collect high-quality blood specimens from patients and prepare them for laboratory testing, following established protocols.
  • Create a welcoming and professional environment, fostering trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures to patients.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and accuracy in handling patient information.
  • Perform daily tasks efficiently and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Execute forensic and clinical specimen collection duties confidently and accurately.
  • Keep detailed records and documentation to support lab operations.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and uphold a positive image to patients, clients, team members, and the general public.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 6 months of phlebotomy experience is required; 1+ years of experience is preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification is strongly preferred (mandatory in specific states such as California, Nevada, and Washington).
  • Exceptional customer service experience in a retail or service environment is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in keyboarding and data entry is a must.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Flexible and adaptable to staffing needs, including availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime shifts.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic certification, is preferred.

Benefits

  • Contract position with hourly pay ranging from $16.20 to $21.00 per hour.
  • Expected hours of 30 per week.
  • Day shift schedule.
