About the position
The Full-time Phlebotomist role at Premise Health involves supporting healthcare services in Butte and Anaconda, MT, by performing blood collection and related tasks in a safe and efficient manner. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and infection control guidelines while providing high-quality care to patients. The role also includes responsibilities such as assisting with supply inventory and potentially instructing new employees in phlebotomy procedures.
Responsibilities
- Work independently in accordance with safety and organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist with supply inventory.
- Instruct phlebotomy procedures to new employees.
- Abide by all infection control guidelines and safety procedures.
- Know the location and use of MSDS material and emergency equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current national certification in Phlebotomy from a Premise Health approved organization or a Certificate/Diploma from an accredited Phlebotomy program with hands-on externship completed.
- CPR certification with hands-on evaluation of skills by the trainer/instructor.
- State Lab Certificate (NV only) and State Phlebotomy Tech Certification (CA, WA, and LA) as applicable.
- Six months to one year of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare environment or completion of an approved phlebotomy course with 100 hours of clinical experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge and skills necessary to collect blood samples from patients.
- Problem-solving skills relevant to the job responsibilities.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
