Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough phone assessments to evaluate patient symptoms and determine appropriate care pathways.
- Provide accurate medical advice to patients based on established protocols and escalate urgent cases to physicians when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
- Document patient interactions and interventions accurately in electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Possess basic understanding of medications to aid in patient education and adherence support.
- Communicate effectively with physicians to relay patient information, seek guidance, and facilitate decision-making.
- Prioritize patient needs based on severity of symptoms and available resources.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, medication refills, and medical record management.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and stay updated on medical protocols.
Requirements
- Medical Assistant Registration or Certification Preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting.
- Proficiency in phone triage techniques and telemedicine.
- Basic knowledge of medications and ability to educate patients.
- Strong communication skills, with the capability to interact effectively with physicians and patients.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
