The Photo-Video Editor position at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is a vital role within the Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy (BERA), specifically situated in the Digital Communications Studio (DCS). This role is designed to enhance UNDP's capacity for visual communications through the professional and creative use of photography and videography. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Digital Production Lead and will be responsible for producing high-quality visual content that supports UNDP's communications, marketing, and advocacy campaigns. This includes creating compelling multimedia stories that align with UNDP's mission and objectives, particularly in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Photo-Video Editor will collaborate closely with digital editors and producers to develop engaging visual narratives that effectively communicate UNDP's programmatic work. This role also involves producing content for corporate partnerships, such as the collaboration with Samsung, which includes creating multimedia visual stories for social media and the Samsung Global Goals app. The incumbent will provide advisory support to various UNDP offices on best practices in photography and video production, ensuring that all content meets professional standards. Additionally, the role requires the identification of professional photographers and videographers for assignments, as well as the management of a digital asset management system to maintain quality control of visual assets. The position is integral to UNDP's efforts to build strong political and financial backing through effective visual communication strategies. The Photo-Video Editor will also be involved in taking photographs and recording video content at high-level events, contributing to the overall visibility and impact of UNDP's initiatives on a global scale.
